Up on the docket is the three-track EP Theodore & Andre from prolific superproducers Hit-Boy and The Alchemist. Hit-Boy takes charge coming off of an impressive run as the main man on production for hip-hop legend Nas and his critically acclaimed King's Disease and Magic album series. With the first King's Disease earning him his first Grammy win of his career.

The Alchemist really needs no introduction at this point (unless you've been living under a rock the past decade). With fully-produced albums for underground assassins Boldy James, Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, and numerous others. From the first time the pair collaborated on the single Slipping into Darkness almost a year ago, the chemistry was magnetic. Though neither was known for their rapping prowess, they took turns alternating lyrical jabs between beat switches occupying the song. This first taste left fans hankering for a project stamped by the distinguished duo, and, lo and behold, in February they delivered us Theodore & Andre.

The album cover carries a top gallery aesthetic with a pair of snakeskin boxing gloves focused prominently on a rock with a lush landscape surrounding. The first song Morrissey, named for The Smiths' legendary vocalist, weaves in an excerpt from a grand title fight before it puts you in a a lush trance with the string sample building the tension of each bar, and Al and Hit taking turns on lyric detail. The boxing metaphors continue on The Main Event, taking on a suspenseful trap energy from the start before the effortless beat switch changes it up into a smooth lofi bounce while Johnathan Hulett finishes it up putting the bow on top with a smooth bridge to the outro. And last but never least, Don't Be Gone reverts back to the lush & soulful samples that we know Alchemist for all too well. We can all only hope this project just a precursor to more coming soon from this dynamic duo.
